Google Analytics - a short question

I have noticed that using this tool,there's a section that tells you what keywords were used to find your site and your position for that keyword but when I then look for it there on the serps, i can't find it.

Any suggestions why this might be so?

But, I've seen this happen quite a lot. So, it's nothing you've done.

These can change depending on what country the end user is using Google.

IE Google.com Google.co.uk Google.ca Google.co.au (etc) will all have different results for your keywords.
You can alter the search for Google's different countries on Analytics, so check which Google version placed your site where for the keyword.

This may answer your question if perhaps you're searching google.co.uk but the result you're comparing was searching in google.com

Ditto to what Steve said. I've always guessed that it's to do with datacentres - ie yours might be a different one to that person's

how do i do that?

On the top search queries page.
Near the top of the page it will say 1 WEEK AGO - beside that it will say ALL SEARCHES ALL LOCATIONS (slightly greyed out)
Click that and it will open 2 drop down menus, change the location to different countries to see where you ranked in that country.
Click on the blue word position below and it will sort it into those search terms that rank best in order of how they show up on Google

It depends on your area try to use the googledotcom english with no extension name and log out your gmail acccount before checking your SERP
