Good Examples of Landing Pages

Hi

I am currently using adwords for my own website and would like to improve performance / conversion rate. One of the main areas i would like to improve is the landing pages once a customer clicks on my adwords ad.

I have had a look round but most examples seem to be industries such as insurance etc., and not consumer products like i sell.

Looking at some of the big players in the consumer electronics field i have come across the following examples;

AO have the following land page for a search on washing machines - http://ao.com/laundry/washing-machi...PlN9C_EUBZxTU_mDqCtnAGv5bmfvaXvMcAaAghy8P8HAQ

Argos have the following - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Brows...Ty4Wl5pv9DP9GrbPcP7OR0vgWjtfAqC2OkaAt9V8P8HAQ

Any help or best practise and thoughts on the links provided would be appreciated

Thanks

Is your brand as well known as those 2 brands? If not then your landing pages will need to do stuff that those 2 don't.

For example, everyone knows Argos, so they don't have to include copy and logos that reassure visitors they're a legit company that can be trusted. Instead Argos visitors are ready to buy, and are more likely to be focused on comparing prices. That's my theory as to why they use filters on the left and include the model numbers in the descriptions. Also because it's how Amazon does it.

It's interesting that the AO site doesn't use filters in the same way. Instead it wants to help users understand the difference between different types of washing machines, so spells it out and invites people to click on the type of machine.

If you can find out which of those 2 methods your visitors prefer on your site, you'll be on the way to lifting your conversions. As long as you also include the other elements, eg building trust, reassurance and explaining 'why' people should buy from you. The stuff that the big boys, eg Argos/Amazon don't have to do.

It all depends on what you are selling and to whom. And what keywords you are targeting in your advert and the actual wording on the advert.

If you are selling blue widgets to single white females then the landing page need to be focused totally on blue widgets and the content needs to be written for the target customer. Add a call to action or 'buy now' button plus some trust makes (like your phone number and address) and that pretty much it.

In other word's everything they need to read, see and do is all on the same page. There should be no reason to click anything.

Thanks for your replies - very much appreciated.

@Steve Alphabet I sell CCTV products and the main brand is the biggest brand on the market place. The most profitable items and what has provided me the best return for me over the years has specifically been CCTV Kits e.g. a an adwords click may cost £1 but can possibly provide a sale of up to £3k with a return of around 25%. However my new website is only a few months and doesn't have the trust factor the two sites i included. One of the first things i did was get customer testimonials with pictures of my customers and have added 5 or 6 to build up customer trust. I also use filters on my site. However i will have to give some consideration in how to incorporate the above on a landing page. As there are different types of CCTV kits maybe something like AO have done in regards to educating customers as to the type of CCTV kits.

@fisicx as above i want to specifically to target CCTV systems as that offers me the best return on my adwords. Currently the landing page is an overview page for one of the type of CCTV systems we sell with the customer being able to select anything from a 1 camera to 16 camera kit. I need to work on being able to incorporate the information you have outlined on that landing page as at the moment i don't feel it has the relevant points you outlined.

One landing page for each system. Have a 4 camera page and matching advert. Do the same for each option. Really focus the campaign to target a precise requirement.

Don't give the PPC visitor any reason to falter, deliver exactly the product they want to buy.
