Getting a simple website together

Earlier this year I was helped ably by the community who advised me on something I don't understand - setting up a website to sell FMCG products. I tried amazon vendor central (FBA) and ebay , and have subsequently ended these, instead focusing on a third party niche website which is working well plus amazon seller central which is beginning to work. So I would like to thank those who were good enough to advise.

However, my 'overall business' (ie company) does not have a website but I think I ought to get one. In fact I would prefer 2 sites; as one part of my business imports and distributes food related items; the other (where I get quite a bit of 'ad hoc' demand) is professional services.

So, any suggestions on where I go to get a professional 3 page website built whose content I can update myself. I am not after a payment portal r anything hugely technical; just something well polished.

Hey GTL,There are many professional agencies out there, also some of this forum here,
depending on what your budget is you the quality will vary,
(Personally I work monthly packages if you are interested (from 49+vat per month for a brochure type site) however if you are after a set price i am sure you can find some good people here as well.

Best advice I can give is work out your budget before approaching suppliers. To work out your budget work out what added value you expect your website(s) will bring. The armed with this clearly in your head, you can then start investigating potential suppliers. If you haven't done this pre-work you will be wasting both your valuable time and lots of suppliers time too. One way of telling a good / experience supplier is they will ask you very early in the conversation what your budget is, as they know a client without a budget is likely to just be a tyre kicker.

I built a site a year ago for a guy doing similar. We went for a very simple layout and a couple of product highlight features and his stuff flies of the shelves. There are plenty of ways to do this but don't focus on the 3-page website idea. A modern CMS will let you build as many pages as you need, it might be three or it might be 300. The cost of adding new pages is zero - all you need to do is write the content.
