Is it any good for SEO or for traffic?

I did register last week, but i now dont seem to be registered on their site so im just wondering if its worth bothering with registering again or not?

Definitely, if you use it right you can display quite high on google for for your business name / profession. I have personally have about £2k of work just from my freeindex page but I promote it on my website and ask for clients to leave a testimonial on there. The more you get the higher you display in searches on the site. Also there is a quote section so people can ask for quotes, which they can target to certain areas. Best of all it's free

Sounds good.

I just started to try re-registering after reading your post and when i was putting the email address in it pre populated with one similar to mine, so i entered it wrong - my fault! I logged back in using that email and my password so its now being reviewed.

Im so glad i dont have to type everythign out again.

Hi Tony,

I run a small one man band double glazing company and Freeindex has been brilliant for me the last couple of years.
I've had some cracking jobs from it and the more good reviews you get the higher up on their site you go , i also get quite a few visits to my own website coming from Freeindex.
They also rank highly on Google for searches like ' double glazing glasgow'
And of course the best thing of all ... Its free.

Not really sure how great it is for SEO.

There are tens of thousands of links on there from anyone who wants a free link.

Search engines prefer a link from an authoritative website that is relevant to your industry from a page with few links on.

Freeindex is just a directory promoting anyone and everyone.

It is good to have a link in there just as it is good to be in yell or google places - but the fact that anyone can get on there means that it is not 'desirable'.

Best thing to do is chat to an SEO expert about linkbuilding - no harm in a quick Chat
