forum speed

Hi, don't know if it is just me as no one else seems to have raised this issue, but is this forum incredibly slow to load? changing pages takes an age and sometimes I have to refresh the page to make any progress at all.

Anyone else having problems?

Hmm, interesting. I thought it may be my browser ( BT Yahoo) but have just tried Internet Explorer and it is exactly the same. Don't seem to be having problems with any other sites. Strange

For me most of the page loads fine but the pages slow down when downloading from the Sift ad server.

I have occasionally noticed timeouts (got a Sift error page once) when making a post, and it's not clear whether the post has been added or not. Viewing pages never a problem.

I don't think I'm alone in this as I have noticed a few double posts, I guess from users with the same problem.

It is occasional rather than regular.

Just for the record, the forum is back to normal speed as from this morning. No idea what the problem was or what cured it.

Yep - I am having the same problem. Started yesterday and was the same all day. Just the same today again. All other websites I have visited all seem to load fine but this forum is really slow and pages are not always loading (about 80% of the time).

Whats that about :|

Update - Forum is DOG SLOW just now for me - first time I have seen this since the redesign.

I've had error page and have had many slow pages sometimes it's instant load up and sometimes it takes forever

Hi,

I'm not sure what's happening - I'm getting a very slow response too.

The orange error screen is certainly a server problem, and I wasn't made aware of any server work this evening. And the processor load right now is way, way higher than it should be (like, 20 times higher).

Sorry about this - something's not right and I have put a call in to our Ops team.

Morning all,

OK, one of the web accelerators at our server farm went belly-up at around 6.30pm last night. It was back up by 7.45pm, but took a fair bit longer to load up and serve properly again.

Sorry again for the frustrations - do let me know by PM if you experience any slowdown at all today, so I can get the Ops team straight on it.

Forum just went slow, then let me in, but view new posts stated no new posts (even though there were plenty of them) and I had no subscribed threads showing up.

Now its running normal speed again...

It's since the new forum site was added.......

Hi all,

We've now fixed the accelerator problem (fingers tightly crossed!) so you should now see UKBF whizzing past your eyes.
