Mine is still remarkably slooooow - it takes 18 - 20 seconds to load a page it is now pointless to use this forum anymore.

Strange - as you can see I've answered this pretty quickly after you posted and I've checked the server load and it's all low.

Plus they've loaded fast for me in firefox.

I have to say Internet Explorer is slower.

Wjat are you using? ie ? ff? Broadband?

Hi

The speed problem is recent - in the past it has been fine. I have no problems with any other sites / forums I visit.

I am using IE6 on a BT business BB @ 1meg? but the download was ok when I was on 512kb

Just as a final comment.

All other forums I access load fast with no probs. It is only since you upgraded your forum that the problem with UKBF has emerged.

I have a very simple computer set up - no special or complicated progs.

I would mention that the UKBF logo and the banner ads load instantly - its just the forum that takes forever.

I don't imagine I am the only member that has this problem as it was not me that started the thread. I feel you should have a techie take a look at your end not mine.

Bye

    Hi px,
I have had everything checked and honestly cannot see anything that can be done to speed the forums up any further than what has been done already.
If you are running any firewall software, could you check that you are not running 2 firewalls on your PC by mistake? For example, if you have ZoneAlarm installed check you do not also have the Windows XP firewall also enabled. Also check your cache settings of your web browser, have it set at around 20meg. Finally, make sure that the cache settings are set to check files daily and not "every time". Failing that we are going beyond my technical knowledge :)
