    I'm routinely getting this

    Page could not be loaded

The requested page could not be loaded.
    • Check your internet connection and try again.
    • Certain browser extensions, such as ad blockers, may block pages unexpectedly. Disable these and try again.
    • UKBF may be temporarily unavailable. Please check back later.
    Reload

Proceeded by a loading delay then the spinning beachball of death that hangs the MacBook until this message appears or the browser tag closes itself. (Safari).

Works fine with Chrome so I assume it's my ad blocker but I don't feel like disabling it every time I come to this site.

    Any solution?

Ignoring the fact that there are actually no ads running on this site at the moment except for one sponsor of the starting up forum...

You are a paying member, so you don't see ads anyway if there was...except for if there were a sponsor. So you should feel safe to whitelist UKBF in the adblocker.

Ok, turns out that adblock is not installed on this machine anyway - ffs
It's a repeatable error - anyone else using Safari?

I'm replying to this on Safari 15.1 on macOS Monterey.
Don't suppose there's a particular page view that's consistently causing the issue? Are there any things being blocked, I know Safari can be very protective of it's users, I've added UKBF to my safe site list (obviously) :)

    pffnrrr, it's flying along now.
Previously every click created the error. (But not on any other site)

Let's see; maybe the bug flew away.

Sadly it's recurring all the time now. Let's wait and see if others see it.

This MacBook is using Catalina and reckons there are no further updates for Safari. Wiki also reckons that 15.0 is the latest - are you using a development version?

I also got the hang and beachball four times whilst typing this.

    It's not beta, you should be able to update your macOS from the App Store;

Separately and if you are happy to, drop me a DM with your IP and I'll search the logs to see if there is anything jumping out at me. I'd normally as you to check Dev Console on Chrome for errors too, but don't know if Safari has anything similar.

Whole bunch of issues with Google ads showing in my console. Could simply be the site hanging while it waits for Google to get itself organised and then fail.

Got a 503 error a few times yesterday

Can't use Monterey, it's got issues with other stuff we use. There's no reason why Catalina and 15.0 shouldn't work.

Just had the error page again. Clicking reload always works first time. I'll PM my IP.

Need more, just crashed again ;-(

    Mac OS X

    1. Open Safari and choose Safari > Preferences > Advanced. Then select Show Develop menu in menu bar.
    2. Choose Develop > Show Error Console.
    3. Close the console by clicking the close button on the left hand side of the error consoles menu bar.

That should give at least some better idea what's happening. Stick with Catalina. Big Sur was already a bug feast and unstable but Montgomery is the worst MacOS so far from a point of stability and security.
