Forum bought, need someone to build it!

Hi

I've been looking for weeks at free forum templates and couldn't find anything I liked. Then came across this http://www.rockettheme.com/phpbb/styles/praxis loved it, bought it. Now I'm stuck though ...

I have it downloaded as a zip file. It's fully customisable and I can't wait to get my hands on it. It needs setting up and implementing on a subdomain so it can be added to my site. I'd want to have access to the admin and be able to customise it, add the text and logo etc, set it up the way I want it.

My friend in SEO seems to think I'll need a Coder?! If anyone can help please let me know how much you'd charge.

Also need three images designing, that would come later but if I can find someone reliable and reasonably priced, I'll have plenty of work in the next few months ...

If you have sofalicious or fantastico installed it's a one click install for phpbb.

But as ziggy said, you do need to create the subdomain - there is a sub-domain icon on cpanel.

Thanks Fisicx. I don't have the log in details to my control panel with me, I'll check later but I'm sure it's pretty limited. I have only ever been able to make amendments to page text, replace images and write the text that scrolls along the top of the page. The site was built by a company I always struggle to get hold of so I hope I don't have to rely on them.

Wish I was more knowledgeable about this stuff. Thank you for your advice now and in the past, it's been very valuable to me.

Layla,

That's just your site admin, you need the hosting cpanel. If you login to your hosting account you should be able to access the cpanel. Form there you can set up the sub-domain and install phpbb.

Alright, so I've set up the subdomain, no problem there. Then I've installed phpbb into its directory, then uploaded the style I bought into the styles folder.

Now I'm stuck again cos the instructions next tell me to go to the URL only the URL doesn't lead anywhere even though I've pointed it to the forum/phpbb/styles/style

I'm so nearly there I think. What am I doing wrong?
