I'm working on a project for a client part of which is a simple application form.

It's only got three steps and is as simple as we can make it. This the homepage version:

In step 1 you enter the amount.

In step 2 there is a dropdown

Which method do you prefer: text entry or dropdown?

Now look at this stand alone form:

There is progress bar on this one. Do you think the homepage needs the progress bar as well?

I like the drop-down best because it's nice, easy and I don't really need to think about it.

In my opinion, you should have a progress bar because there's nothing worse than starting something and having to answer 20 different questions. You see this with a lot of those lead generation landing pages. It just pi55es people off.
