Feedback sites: Trustpilot, Feefo etc.

Hello
This is my first post; I hope that this is the right forum. We have been using the Trustpilot free service, but people do not like having to log-in via Facebook. So, do I upgrade to the paid-for service or do you recommend Feefo or someone else? There seem to be question marks about the independence of some reviews on certain sites, is there a secure or “safer” feedback service that anyone can recommend? I want to be sure that I sign up with someone reputable!
Thanks

Trustpilot works out around £1,000 for 12 months feedback service for all orders of quantity 300 per month (more £ for more orders) this is a one-click service requiring no login.

However there is nothing stopping you to email manually each person a week after their order and provide the link direct to your Trustpilot page (but they will need to login via FB or create an account).

You can also create a Freeindex entry and encourage people to review on there if you think Trustpilot may not be suitable.

    Hope this helps.

submit into Google to assist with your SEO.

    Matt

Please can you explain how you 'submit into Google', and how exactly this 'assists with SEO' in much more detail?

I have never heard of Feefo.

When I Google 'review website' Feefo are not in the top 3 results pages.

Also, with regards to SEO for your website something peculiar is going on. Both FeeFo.com and wwwdotFeeFodotcom are redirecting to different locations.

    Is this for SEO?

What cms solution are you using for your website?

if its a popular one, i wouldnt be surprised if there is a module in there that will automatically send out an email and run just like 1weekseo mentioned in his first post.

Whilst your doing that, would be wise to think of how to include them on your website also

    Hi,

Feefo is not designed to run as a review website but rather to generate genuine customer reviews on behalf of our client companies that they can then show on their own website alongside their products. At present we work with many hundreds of companies to run their reviews.

To briefly explain how Feefo works, a company would send Feefo their customers’ details and the details of their purchase. Feefo then emails that client to ask for feedback about the service provided and their purchased product. They provide a rating and comment for both, which can then be used to display on the company's own website to stop new customers having to find reviews elsewhere and potentially finding their competitors!

    Feefo also:

    Offer a no-obligation, free trial!

Submit reviews in to Google to show as gold stars in AdWord campaigns (Google search charles tyrwhitt for a great example of this)
Provide content for product pages and independent links to the company's website - great for SEO

Inform immediately of any negative reviews, allowing our clients to respond publicly and efficiently manage their brand reputation
Enhance Social Media Marketing strategies with simple Facebook and Twitter integrations

I hope this helps to explain things a little further.

I'm not sure what you mean about Feefo Google searches re-directing as it seems to be working fine when I test it.

Just to add to this I've heard of Feefo and know a few companies that work with it and are very happy with it.

That being said I'd just signed up to Trustpilot for 12 months, just to play around and test the impact of reviews on sales because it was a bit cheaper.

independent links to the company's website - great for SEO

So Feefo's knowledge of SEO boils down to a backlink?

SEO is much more than backlinks. Personally I feel that this could potenitally misinform potential clients which are looking for SEO improvements.

I'd like to know what Feefo knows about SEO beyond backlinks.

I'm not sure what you mean about Feefo Google searches re-directing as it seems to be working fine when I test it.

I didn't say that it wasn't working fine. What I said was that "FeeFo.com and wwwdotFeeFodotcom are redirecting to different locations."

Type this into google address bar directly to demonstrate: use dots instead of the word [dot]

(no www) http://[dot]feefo[dot]com redirects to http://www[dot]feefo[dot]com/en/en/
    and
(with www) http://www.feefo.com redirects to http://www[dot]feefo[dot]com/en/en/

A canonical URL should resolve thus:
(non www) FeeFo.com should redirect with a 301 to (with www) wwwdotFeeFodotcom without any further /en/en/ in either location.

So, digging a bit deeper on Feefo demo, I viewed the page, then went to google and searched for:
    examplesupplier.com Canon Selph CP600

Checking the results I see NO aggregate rich snippets markup of the reviews, just as on the page I see no text or rich snippets markup either.

Looking the sidebar, I see all the competitor supplies with ***** but not on the Feefo demo.

Frankly, if you're going to push your way into this space, you better be relevant, and without this simplest of bits in place, you're outdated before you began...

Thanks for taking the trouble to look at Feefo.

The reviews that pop up in our Example Supplier site are fed by a Javascript link that is a very easy installation, but does not make them visible to Google when loading the page. All the pages of reviews on our own site have Rrich Snippets (and direct links to the product pages on our members' sites), as do any reviews on members' sites that use our XML feed.

However Google does not need Rich Snippets to know about our reviews. We send a feed directly to Google daily, which Google uses to put stars on Adwords and some of the natural listings, so the presence of Rich Snippets is not of critical importance.

The key factor that persuades Google to take our review feed is that they consider them to be genuinely impartial, and the fact that we get a very high response rate to our requests, so many of our members have thousands of reviews.

    Heya Bill,

I'd suggest putting your demo as a best foot forward and showcasing the app in its glory rather than dumbed down. Just a thought.

Google doesn't need anything from us other than our credit card details for buying Adwords. Our sites don't need HTML5 or javascript or caching or anything other than ancient HTML and inline styles. However, we choose to use modern technologies to take advantage of what they have to offer.

Rich snippets are for an improved user experience and massive increases in clickthrough rates.

If you're not following the semantic web, then you're being left behind...

Your reviews are not for Google sake, it's for the user sake. After all, why wouldn't site owners just use Google places reviews if they're going to rely on Google aggregation?

It really seems like you've invented a foon (combination of fork and spoon), when we already have a fork, a spoon and a spork.

Just my 2 cents... Your mileage may vary.
