Feed for Google Base

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, was hoping for a break for a couple of days after Christmas but had load of orders even some on Christmas day so unfortunately back to work!

Can anyone here do google base stock feeds? Have asked web designer but not heard back from them yet as they were going to set up an autofeed. I think you can fill a spreadsheet, it's too complicated for me would be keen to hear if anyone on here can do one for me, am happy to pay for however long it takes at a fair hourly rate.

Basically looking to have all our products on there so that if someone searches on google for one of our products it shows up there.

I've just done this for one of my sites. Go with XML and have your chosen developer write something to auto-upload it via FTP every week or two.

Works a charm.

Duane that sounds exactly what we are looking for not sure if my develoeprs are back at work yet as got no response to an earlier email.

Once it's done do you just leave it for good and it always updatesd base with al your product details?

In essence, yes. Any changes we make to our on-site catalog get updated on Base with the next update. If we added/changed stock items regularly then we'd make the updates nightly.

We do log wheter the auto-update was sucessful or not, but for peace of mind you can't help manually checking your Base account every now and then.

BTW, this is for the site I mentioned to you in a PM a few months back saying I met get involved in. I now own a stake in it.

Duane, don't know if our designers are on extended holiday but nothing back from them yet!

Can you do this for us a base feed if they can't do it, how many hours work is it?

I'm not sure I'd have the time to fit it in TBH - especially as you are using CF. My skills are MS based. Do you know what type of database is powering your site?

Not sure Duane, all I know is it's Dynamic and built with Coldfuson don't know much else about the backend, it runs from a central database thing for updates etc.

I'd rather not touch it if thats the case - I'd need to know your DB server type, login details for it, etc, to work out table structures - all of which I assume you'd need your developers to give you?

Harrass your developers, get them on the case.

Might know most of the details myself to give you. The guy at wed designers got back Monday waiting for them to give me a proposal for the work.

Fiddling about with it adding a product, managed to get one added but it has its own google base page how do I get it to go straight to the relevant product page on our site when they click the product?
