fallen over in super market.

I aquired an injury in a supermarket today.

After repeatedly banging my head on the floor I passed out.

There were no warning signs informing me of the harndess of the floor, no saftey padding to prevent floor-impact injuries and a complete lack of any information relating to the possible effects of repeated floor / head contact.

Totally negligent of them, how dare they, how was I to know?

I intend to sue the company. I will also seek to have the member of staff who asked me to stop sacked as I feel their demands infringed upon my human rights.

I will set up a facebook campaign to have all public floors padded.

I will also instruct my solicitors 'Sharky, Grabbit and Mcpoostain' to pursue everyone in the store for compensation for mental anguish caused by s******ing, looking, walking close by or any other discriminatory behaviour.

Following this I will sit and cry into handfulls of cash. All on my own.

I think they take all cash off you on admission.:|

I suspect a counter claim for damage to there floor might be in order.

Myself always found that supermarkets put out signs and clean up as soon as notified of spillage so may be hard to prove negligence on them

Sorry for your Mum but unless you can prove negligence then hard to make a claim
Agreed,
And if it's the S/M i think it is, the cleaners are constantly checking for this problem as part of their job. Proving negligence really would be a battle...especially as they are well practiced in this little game.

Im passing on her comments so no silly comments aimed at me please.

She feels as though the floor should have been slip proof and as she pointed out what if it was a 90 year women who fell over (could be very serious) luckily shes not 90!

Believe it or not but she walks everywhere and that includes when its raining and even snowing and she does not fall over so she is angry at the supermarket!

Your getting silly now.

Still no indication of a visit to the Doctor though.

Starting tomorrow with research, non slip tiles aimed at supermarkets and shopping centres, no need for mats, just non slip tiles. PM me now before I get too busy. Not even gonna trouble the dragons with this one, I want to keep all the money to myself.
Nothing wrong with the floor tiles. It's the liquid substance that's slippy. OP should make a claim against that Manufacturer.

If the supermarket has clearly been negligent in a way you can prove with independent evidence and your mother has suffered serious loss as a result, then go see a lawyer.

Otherwise, move on.

As far as im aware the store made out as if it was the rain from outside. My mother said the security guard saw her slip but then later denied this.

she needed to be helped up by 2 members of the public.

she cant walk at the moment so she will miss work its a physical job.

This is one of the funniest threads i have ever read on this forum, I'm glad most people on here have a sense of humour (the 'childish' remarks in particular amused me) and its also nice to see that some haven't fallen for this horrible "claim culture" they keep ramming down our throats.
Where exactly do you draw the line????
