Has your business suffered any ill effect from these changes?

Facebook isn't a big thing for us, but I found this story incredible.

Eggs and basket come to mind.

Why are they even surprised about this. It's no different to those companies whose whole business relied on google ranking and complained when it all went pearshaped.

FB is a platform owned by someone else over which you have zero control. Disaster waiting to happen if your entire business model is dependent on one platform you don't control.

It makes me chuckle seeing stories like this. While it's sad that a business can essentially go under because of changes outside of their control, what did they expect would happen? They've been using Facebook to build up a business, for free, and didn't think about how not to put all their eggs in one basket?!?

Using Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc. to buld up a business is a great starting point, but once you get to the point where you could really lose something if things change, it's time to start thinking about taking control into your own hands in some way.

Google has been doing the same thing to publishers for years.

Diversify your traffic sources, use multiple platforms.
