Facebook Business Page - Linking to Messenger

Hi All,

I am hoping some FB gurus can point me in the right direction, as I'm pulling my hair out!

I'm quite late to FB (I know) and have always avoided going on social media. In the past my Virtual Assistant helped me set up a personal FB account and a Business Page (as you need a Personal to set up the Business). Now I can longer afford my VA (Covid) so am having to learn everything myself.

I now have a new business (so 2 businesses in total linked to my Personal account). I have set up a new Business Page, and although I can add a "Contact Us" button on the page, I cannot link it to my Messenger. So my question is - where does the message get directed to if it doesn't come through to my Messenger? And if it is meant to go through to my Messenger, how do I link it? I have already gone to my Messenger, clicked onto my profile, clicked the + button, but it only gives me the option to click onto my original login (of which obviously I am logged into my original login). Hope this makes sense!

I have already gone to FBs Q&As, etc and cannot find any articles that could help with this. Also cannot find a phone number or contact details for FB, so there's no one I can ask!

Any advice is much appreciated.

TIA

When managing your pages, you should be able to toggle your pages, and as you do, the inboxes per page will also become accessible via this view.. at least on a desktop machine, I have issues on mobile myself...

Do you mean you want to add messenger to your own website so people can use it from there? Like on the bottom right of this page https://www.v1seo.co.uk/seo/messenger-demo/

    If so,
Sign in and go to your page > go toinbox > click on chat tab > follow instructions

You will get the code to add to your site.

Note: it can be temperamental and doesn't work on all browsers

I'm not sure this will work the way you want. You will only get the message if the visitor to your website has a FB account, is signed in and uses messenger. You could be losing a lot of leads.

If you want people to contact you provide a proper form/email address.

People can use it as a Guest if they just stay on site
It is supposed to be on that page you linked to? If so I don't see it.

Like I said earlier, it's temperamental and doesn't display on all browsers
Which is why it's probably not the best means to contacting someone @hipwuk

I shouldn't think anyone uses it as a way for people to contact them.

It's just an additional thing for people who like to use it to be able to have instant chats on the site.

I don't use it as I'm never logged in to FB and wouldn't see if someone initiated it.
Some people really like it though

I just have it in a widget and can activate or deactivate it anytime 99% of the time it's not even there

    Indeed but @hipwuk said:

which suggests this is the only means of contact they have.

<edit>I've just realised they are only talking about a FB page not a website. So ignore all my posts.</edit>
