Someone else doing 80 masks for £399.

Who will be selling in bulk to people willing to pay more - or else selling to governments who have figured out they need a morale boost for their citizens.

You have been offered a price. You don't want it.
So look around. Perhaps you will find a supplier no one else has tried yet who isn't up to date with demand.

The time to buy was last year. Why did you not buy them then?

Here's an idea.
As the price is rocket flying you can afford to spend more buying the stock.

Or pay some people with sewing skills / sewing machines to create some for you.
Just be aware the material may be coming from China!

The retail price is skyrocketing, but so is the wholesale/manufacturer price.

If you want to pay $5 per box, you're just asking for someone else to scam you. No one is going to sell at anywhere near that price for the next few months at least.

Maybe this time next year.

The price is subject to supply and demand. You want cheap, no one is going to tell you where to get a high demand item cheap.
If I saw 6200 boxes at the price you want I'd be buying them myself, giving thanks for my good fortune in such a deal.
Or avoiding the scammer out to get money. One or the other.

You can't buy at a low price, buy a lesser amount at a higher price.

Or simply don't buy.

Do you need the standard 3 ply mask or you need some sophisticated certified masks like N95 and products from 3M company.

If it is the standard PP non woven then I can supply from India however the price you are expecting is not realistic at this point of time. Though not my main line of business, I am thinking that a pack of 50 masks would be around 15 GBP ex works.

The export demand has shot up in the past few weeks but there is no huge demand for the masks within India as yet but 3-5 Corona positive cases in last 5 days might lead to a sudden rise in demand of the mask within India.

I am pretty sure that price is realistic at this point of time.

As not my main line of business, I do not have any proof of supply yet.

If you interested then I can definitely explore the opportunity and we can work on it jointly.
