It is that time again. Another dozen or so supplies (gas and electric) coming off contract at the end of August and current supplier being difficult.

Potentially we could look at the water as well.

I could do with some real world good guys and not just the spivs.

Happy for brokers on here to post or message but be prepared for me to do a little digging around. So if you're pretending to be a big shot but really work from the cupboard under your mama's stairs then at least be honest.

No shame in being small but I won't deal with liars.

just out of interest, would you consider yourself as a 'real world good guy' or just a 'spiv'?

Well for starters I have a landline number or rather lots of landline numbers and can afford the £20 a month or so it costs each month !

I also have a real world address or rather lots of them too and my websites don't have spurious contact forms with no address or company name to follow up on or to check out. Perhaps you should publish the B43 5BA address ?

My website tabs don't have anything to do with "High Risk Merchant Account Instant Approval" either.

So yeah, I think I'm real world and a good guy. Paying lots of money to HMRC today too just to keep the economy moving along :)

Doesn't look like you've got much response to your original post other than me. Which leads me to believe that users of this site must not be questioning your attitude and tone and that leads to question your 'real world and good guy' .feel free to check out my website wetranxact.co.uk you may actually learn something 'real world and good guy'!.please do not come onto such sites and try and rubbish people just to make yourself feel big and mighty. we've all come across people like you, especially in school playgrounds. go play little boy!

Just wanted to say avoid a company called BES utilities, they gave me the run around for years, charged me a fortune for electricity, gave me dodgy estimates that you could run a power plant off of & I had to get the ombudsman involved & months later they released me from contract as I was just too much hassle for them.

extraenergy have been good to us, with rates even npower couldn't match. They have bad reviews but it seems to be from people who've not given meter readings etc.

Extra Energy ? Shocking company to deal with when things go wrong. We had quadi fraud with their own people making stuff up, selling it, getting the commission and moving on.

Admittedly they appear (?) to be making progress but not sure I'd ever go back to them. Used to have great rates but you pay elsewhere IMHO.

Extra Energy are one of the worst suppliers out there so you've been very lucky. Given that Npower are generally the most expensive of the Big 6, beating them on price isn't much of a standard.

Good luck when you try and leave Extra Energy.

Noah, this is totally unrelated to the supply commercial gas contracts in the UK, but I think you know that already.
Not totally. Gazprom is controlled by the Russian government, and they have repeatedly shown that they will use it as a tool of foreign policy. In the current political climate, it seems irresponsible to rely on the continuing good will of the Russian government for critical supply contracts.

I defer to your knowledge of the supply sources of wholesale gas, but the case for avoiding a direct contract with Gazprom still holds - in my humble opinion.

Anecdotally, an acquaintance in the gas business has worked with Gazprom directly on various large projects. He does not relish his interactions with them.
