A CMS is a Content Management System and email is a something totally different.

Its like asking how do I drive to Australia, you need to get on a plane. You don't need a CMS you need an email server solution. Is this for a single domain or for multiple domains?

No you have it differently bluecm.

I should have explained that this way simpily. I want to build hotmail.com is there a CMS for build this kind of website free/not. I know what a CMS is. We have a CMS for blog based websites, CMS for standard websites, Forums, etc. But how about email interfaces.

I'm not looking for an email server or to host emails. I'm searching for an interface builder which could build something like hotmail.com or Gmail before I go ahead and build my own. Outlook is just an email interface and can also be used to manage emails on the server but not the host or email server.

Apologies but you are an idiot.

Bit harsh, basically PETTE you aren't explaining what you are looking for too well. CMS and hotmail/gmail etc don't have anything to do with each other.
A CMS is to manage content within a website, hotmail/gmail etc are for email (sorry to sound patronising - not intended, just stating the obvious)

For creating something along the lines of hotmail/gmail etc. then you need the backend which like the link I posted will do but that still requires hosting as it's the backend to a email server (or in our case we use MDAEMON) so you can't seperate one from the other.

Hold on guys, the OP was clear in its question - 'A CMS for building email websites'. If you can't be constructive, why criticize and call him names?

PETTE, I am sure someone has got a program like this, maybe open source, but built with a CMS, not sure.

I would go to each of the main CMS's and ask the question on their forums.

Okay.

Is there a Content Management System (CMS)/Scripts which I could use to build a website application like hotmail.com/Gmail. Ofcourse Gmail/Hotmail and CMS(s) don't have anything to do with each other.

Has anyone came across any Content Management Systems/Scripts I could use to build a browser/website based email client such as Outlook. I'm looking for something complexed.

I don't care about hosting/Servers etc. I understand the difference between email servers/hosting, CMS and hotmail/Gmail.

I think the question here is very clear.

I disagree with the clarity. I think the issue lies in different understandings of what each term means. You say you don't care about email servers but regretably the two things you require are intertwined. A CMS setup that doesn't include any reference to email is just another CMS, in which case you might find something of interest at opensourcecms DOT com or for more choice of PAID for software you can try commercialcms DOT com

Other than that my suggestion would be to get something bespoke where you can speak at length with a programmer that may be able to understand what you want.

These are not CMS scripts.

However, if I understand what you want, these webmail scripts let your users signup to email accounts and view their email through a shiny interface.

Also, It's reasonably easy to create a PHP script that will create and allow login to the webmail systems already installed on your server.
