Elaborate Royal Mail delivery Scam?

Strange one this...
Due to receive a package this morning, new Postman arrived handed over a letter and appeared to have a grey bag in other hand which they held onto. 30 minutes later, tracking notification says item delivered.

Photographic evidence shows the door thresh hold of an old brick building, white interior wall, mahogany skirting, grey entrance mat all elements that look exactly like our front door entrance. On blowing up the picture it's clearly not and the recipient has black shoes on. I'm wearing brown. There are no other units on the estate with the same door.

Pure coincidence or elaborate scam?

Sounds like it was delivered to the wrong unit in error. Have you asked around any other similar looking units?

There are no other units with the same door, same brickwork etc., All the others have aluminium doors and windows, a couple with steps etc.,

If you're lucky, they're on the RM tracking page with a map - but it's very pot luck sadly from RM, and can often be the road at best. If you do have the coordinates then take out the letters and degree symbols and paste into Google maps for a street view.

Panic over!
The same Postman covers our estate and the neighbouring one a mile up the road. We share the same Landlord. The buildings are quite different, most converted from barns but we apparently have virtually identical decor and exactly the same unit number. Postie simply mis-read the address.
