A huge number of organizations in U.K. benefits from their own eCommerce website, where they can sell their products or services. I'm planning to launch an online store for men's casuals. Could you suggest an agency providing eCommerce website development solutions in U.K.?

Cindy is posting from Kerala. So I suspect one of his/her colleagues will be a long soon to suggest someone who can do this for her.

FWIW: If anyone is serious about looking to invest in a 3rd party company to help them either get set up in eCommerce or grow their eCommerce I would suggest 4 things:

1. browse this forum, read the comments and look for long term established posters/verified members and posters with good upvotes/thank you.

IMHO these are people who are serious and know what they are talking about.

2. find an agency with a proven track record of helping businesses in your sector, just because a company is good at website/social media design for clothing does not mean they will be good if you are selling office chairs and desks.

IMHO you should engage with companies who have taken similar clients to the next level in your industry and you should be able to speak with their existing clients of your choosing so you can learn how that company helped that client specifically.

3. have a budget for marketing and ensure your Key Point Indicators (KPI's) are set up for correct tracking before you start spending money on ads.

IMHO no matter what product/service you are selling these days, unless you have a unique celebrity endorsement or you have invented the next ipod then you will have to pay for some form of traffic (online and offline). Most agencies will be wanting to set you up with ads and re-targeting ads for a monthly retainer. Thus, you should have your analytics in place set up correctly so you can measure the impact of your ad spend and ensure you are targeting the right users.

4. if possible start doing much work yourself. The more active you are online the more you pick up. By actually doing stuff i.e. producing content, cross linking, posting on social media, taking an advert in the local magazine etc you will not only learn more and thus do not have to pay 3rd parties as much but you will also start building some traction yourself which IMHO the online spiders will pick up on.
