Currently re-designing our home page. But after playing around with a few ideas on how to showcase the products im still undecided.

Sooooo has anyone seen a really cool site of late that made them think I want to buy that right now!

Feel free to post links :)

Amazon ;) I'm particularly fussy on the music I buy, but Amazon has it ;) Although it does take money to buy it right now lol ;) So therefore you should also look at a wish list too ;) Got about 20 albums listed in there atm lol/

It does depend on what you are selling, but came across this site recently which really stood out as it showcases the quality of the products really well:

http://www.brooklynslate.com/

The site is based in Wordpress using the e-commerce plugin.

I bet they would get more click through on their add to basket button if they used the hover state as normal instead!

@dynamic08 what business are you in? That could dictate a lot about what type of look might be best

You can have as many disorders as you like with comments like that Jen (i'll send the money in the post as agreed :))

My personal feeling is its too crowded (busy) but I'm stuck with trying to get a lot of things across on what is normaly the entry page. I was thinking of doing away with the right column with the blocks on the index page only to give more space but not sure.... well get a few zzzz's tonight and may have a brain wave tomorrow.... more chance of platting fog..... but can try :D

Set of four coasters: top-left corner says $12, but next to the Add to Bag button, it says $13 :|
That's because the WP-Ecomm plugin is the worst piece of crap ever.
Full of bugs, badly written code and support that = 0.
They deleted and moved their forums a few times as it was full of people asking for help with a ton of [unresolved].
Avoid if you're serious about ecommerce.

If you are looking for a WordPress ecommerce plugin which does work and is supported, then please consider the Shop Integrator WordPress ecommerce plugin.

Our solution makes it easy to add in our range of ecommerce plugins in to your WordPress site, dragging and dropping products, basket widgets in to your sidebars, or inserting ecommerce features in to your posts/pages.

You can use our WordPress ecommerce plugin with any standard WordPress theme rather than one that has to be specially created for your chosen WordPress ecommerce plugin.

As a result of this thread, did you end up making a decision on how to showcase your products and what did you decide was best for you in the end?

Did you or are you going split test to see what/which worked better? I suspect a fundamental aspect was probably missing from the end decision.
