EBay vat invoice

Hi All, I started new job as Bookkeeper. We are buying a lot things from eBay. But eBay don’t provide vat invoice. I can see order total from eBay history. Can I download the order and take out vat value for posting. Please advise other solution. Thanks

If you don't have a VAT invoice, how do you know there was VAT charged on it?

What are you buying from eBay, or do you actually mean the suppliers selling through eBay?

If VAT is charged then they must provide a VAT invoice.

No - you must have a valid VAT invoice to recover VAT.

You need to ask sellers to supply VAT invoices if they aren't sent with the items purchased.

A lot of sellers on eBay are small sellers who are below the threshold so there may not be any VAT to claim.

Thats why it’s essential to contact each seller and ask for a VAT invoice as you do not want to be claiming for VAT where you shouldn’t be.
