Hi

I currently have a website via EKM and am looking to change it to another supplier. I have looked at many and tried the free trials and find most of the them much harder to use so looking for a bit of advice please.

I run a small craft business selling personalised goods and currently most of my sales come from ebay of which my sales are great but want to properly get going with building a website as my current one has very little on it and dont feel ekm is going to grow with me.

List of things I would like from website

Integrate with Channel Grabber
Integrate with Ebay, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, Etsy preferably so customers can buy straight from facebook/instagram app.
Be able to list products with variations and when the option is selected say blonde hair the image changes to the correct product (straight forward in ekm but not so in big commerce of shopify)

Does it costs thousands to get someone to set up a shopify store for you as I feel as if everyone I have looked at is really expensive. When I had the trial the biggest problem I found was setting up a simple menu and having drop downs. I dont like the menus that have home them shop about us at the top, I like to have all my shopping categories at the top i.e personalised stickers, greeting cards, shop by occasion etc.

I would appreciate any help advice you could offer me as I have spent weeks going round in circles and uploading stuff to websites to then find It cant do some things I really need.

If you want someone else to do it and the features you want a fairly hard to achieve with Shopify, which is very "locked-down" then yes.

Hi JMT,

Antropy is correct that this wouldn't be much fun to get done in Shopify. You never actually own it and it is more difficult that it should be without access to the code.

We would lean towards WooCommerce for a project like this. You are absolutely dead on with the top-menu, the option for drop downs etc. are all readily available in WooCommerce and it can be integrated into the platforms that you've mentioned as well as achieving the updating of the product images.

This doesn't make sense. If you are listing your products on eBay then people will buy from eBay. They won't even know your facebook/instagram app even exists.

You seem to be confusing two different things. A websites exists in isolation from amazon (and other patforms). There can be a feed from your website to other channels but it doesn't work the other way round.

And if you are mainly selling on eBay then moving people to your website is often difficult, slow and tedious.

Fisicx is right that moving people over to your website is normally a slow process, but it can certainly be done with some effective branding and email marketing.

The integration side of things does make sense though, in that you only need to list something once for it to appear on all platforms. Yes, the sale will be made on that individual platform, but steps can be taken to usher customers towards your own site for future purchases. I think that the grammar may have thrown you off the real meaning there, fisicx

Sorry I think I may have wrote it down wrong. I just want a stand alone website that I can try and build up sales for via facebook networking, friends, family etc so that I can direct them to my website as its cheaper than paying ebay/amazon fees. I realise that its hard to drive traffic to your own store but I want to make a start on it.

Most of my sales will probably always most likely come from the big guys but it would be nice to try and build up some customers on my own too.

When I mean integrate I am sure the likes of facebook you can have shopify integrate like a shop now button so customers can buy directly from facebook?

Would be nice if you can even list from shopify to your website/ebay/amazon/etsy all in one go rather than having to manually list on all 4 sites?
