Hi All,

I hope you are well.

I am trying to organise the shipping and delivery service for my UK based online store. I am using Shopify as the store host.

Which apps have people used to pick up delivery rates and print postage labels? I have looked at the e-commerce services offered by Royal Mail and DHL but am struggling to understand if I need an account with them and which app I would need to install to my Shopify store to utilise this service.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Royal Mail have their own Shopify app. You'll need an account with them but then just install the app from their website and away you go. You'll need to pay more for tracked items and they're unpredictable at the moment, due to strikes.

Also, if you're getting collections, you do need to be doing 20 to 30 parcels per day through RM for it to work best.

Parcel2Go are great if you have lots of odd shaped or sized parcels and only ship a few items a day or on irregular days. If it's quiet, we will use the Evri collection from them. Usually, it's RM though as we have enough volume to bring the cost per package down.

This is exactly what i'm struggling with myself, trying to calculate the postage for items so people pay the right amount is so hard! Do these apps do this for you on shopify?
I've installed the Royal Mail app on my store but yet to try and test it. Will revert back with my findings.

Do let me know if you try another app/method and how it worked for you

It's impossible to do 100% accurately if people order multiple items that are various shapes and sizes. You work out what your average order is going to be, and you come up with a model that might mean you lose out on some and gain on others.

I thought this may be the case. Generally delivery costs are determined on the class i.e. Next Day, 48 hours etc. I guess to begin with I would need to absorb any additional costs.

    Hi All,

People have used a variety of apps to pick up delivery rates and print postage labels, including Shippo, ShipStation, and EasyPost. All of these apps integrate with Shopify and allow you to print labels and calculate delivery rates. You will need to set up an account with the shipping carriers you plan to use with each of these apps in order to access their services. Once your account is set up, you can install the relevant app on your Shopify store and begin using its features.
Many Shopify stores have found success with the Shopify Shipping App. It provides discounted shipping rates for USPS, DHL, and Royal Mail, as well as access to print postage labels and tracking information. These shipping rates will automatically be added to the cost of the order, so customers won’t need to pay separately. In addition, it integrates directly with Shopify, so you don’t need to create any accounts with the different shipping companies.
To organise the shipping and delivery service for your UK based online store, you may want to consider using a combination of different companies. Popular delivery services for UK businesses include Royal Mail, Hermes, Yodel, DPD, and UPS. Each of these companies offer different delivery options such as standard, express, and next day delivery. Researching each company's delivery options and prices is the best way to determine which company to use for your shipping and delivery service.
    - Have you considered using a third-party shipping app such as ShipStation or Shippo to manage your delivery rates and print postage labels? Both of these apps integrate with Shopify, so you won't need an account with Royal Mail or DHL.
    - You might also want to look into ShippingEasy which offers integration for both Shopify stores and major carriers like Royal Mail and DHL. This will allow you to easily access their services from the same platform.
    - If you are looking for something more cost effective then consider using EasyPost, this is a great app that can help calculate rates and print labels without needing an account with any carrier service provider.
