I have been looking at arious e-commerce providers online but not too sure which would be best. I will need some customisation done to the software so that clients can design their garments so this will need to be achievable.

The best one so far seems to be Ingenii who will program the software to my needs but does anybody have experience of anything that could be better?

Thanks.

Take a look at G-forces. They have an ecommerce option called Tiger Commerce, but you should really look at their G-forces site, and the other options they create for businesses. My experience of them is that even on a standardised package that I am using, they are exceptionally willingly to discuss changes to meet your needs. I can't post URLs yet, so you'll have to Google them ;-)

Agree with CaffeineFrenzy – Tiger Commerce has a great package with multiple options. You can customise the layout yourself so it doesn’t have the issue that a lot of ecommerce packages have where they all look the same save for the logo. I think their software support is free, so you can talk to their team about any other options that you need.

You can find them at (3ws)tigercommerce.co.uk Good luck with your shop!

Hi Muse2k8!

I would have a look at COG!

I've been using it for a while now and it's by far the easiest to use e-commerce platform out there. It's also cheap, reliable and fully customisable. And it gets you ranked very high in all the search engines. I recommend it to everybody as I've had great service from them

Theres a free online demo on the site

Hope that helps,
Paul

osCommerce is a widely used open source ecommerce package and there are loads of free add-ins available for it e.g. payment gateways, shopping calculators.

CRE Chain Reaction Edition pre-installs a lot of these for you.

There are also lots of templates available, some free, some charged for, you could find one that's close to your requirements and save a lot of work.

osc is written for LAMP - Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL - this is a very widely used technology stack.

because it's open source it's free, widely tested and all the source code is provided.

There are lots of developers with oscommerce experience who could customise it for you.

We've implemented lots of oscommerce sites...

I would vote for a Magento based solution.

That isn't because Edmonds Commerce specialise in Magento.

Its more the case that Edmonds Commerce specialise in Magento because we believe it is by far the best ecommerce platform available at the moment for all kinds of ecommerce business models.

oscommerce is a great system that we have used and currently support for various clients who have small ecommerce stores however in recent months magento has got to the point where by not only medium sized stores benefit but now smaller ecommerce/startup stores can benefit from the system.

I would highly recommend using Magento. Again as Edmonds states, although we support and specialize in magento - it is a very good system none the less.
