Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to set one of these up? Yes, I know they are 'so 1998', but I've got a project up my sleeve...

I have just googled PHP ecard script and there are loads of free scripts out there. I guess it is a matter of getting a well reviewed script and working with it to make it yours.

If you dont want the hassle of writing your own, you could use

for a free postcard site, they host it, but you stick it on your site basically.

I used it many years ago and it was fine - no problems, but I have not used it for years so cant comment on how it is now.

same meaning as "e"mail, it is a card delivered over the internet, so, for birthdays, thankyous etc

And as a result ecards were the perfect spammers/hackers/virus choice of medium. I remember getting endless email messages saying I'd got a ecard from some weird site in asia or wherever. As a result of this and other scams ecards died a welcome death.
