Don’t panic they say, that’s like red to a bull. One end of our development we have new road works and temporary traffic lights. No problem I thought ill come back via the ring road only to get caught in a massive traffic jam where people are queuing to get into the Tesco petrol garage.

I've just arrived home after putting £40 in my car. I was called a selfish c**t which was nice.

When I do get around to filling up the 4x4 ready to go to a funeral on Tuesday (several hundred miles away) based on your experience ill probably get lynched. I had better go under the cover of darkness …….. if there’s any left of course

There will be plenty of darkness - everything else is running out.

These were the queues at the local petrol stations today:

I drove to Brighton and back yesterday recording a video for UKBF (being released at a later date) so had to fill up the gas guzzler twice, once before I left and again when I got back and felt like I had to hire protection both times.

So true though... "Don't panic" so what do people do....

We spend upwards of £5k a month on diesel.

Next weeks fuel card pump price for derv £133.17
    (110.98 + VAT) that’s a 2.06 p p l increase week on week.
That’s around £400 per tanker load. I doubt tanker drivers pay has gone up anything approaching 25% of that.
There’s absolutely no shortage of fuel at the refineries we are told by ministers , so a rise of this magnitude can ONLY be profiteering.
High street filling stations should have a standing minimum £25 charge to enter their forecourts and if the vehicle won’t take that much fuel then the car driver should forfeit the surplus cash.

Seems a bit harsh, my motorbike only holds about £15 to fill the tank.

Agreed, but one particularly stupid garage chain has put a £30 MAXIMUM spend. Do they have brains?

Can’t get fuel anywhere. Stupid panic buying means we can’t go see parents tomorrow.

Listening to the news yesterday they had a guy on representing the trucking industry apparently there’s 600,000 registered HGV drivers in the UK but only around 300,000 actively driving at the moment, the rest must be working for Tesco. Like everything else our leaders seem to just sit on their collective hands until the sh…. hits the fan

Tesco's, Shell and BP all run out here so no visiting for me either today just hope I can fill up tomorrow when the majority go back to work. Have to pick mother up on Tuesday for a 250 plus round trip to attend a family funeral

I can fill up the car for £30. Nobody needs a big engine. Small cars can easily drive at the speed limit.

Possibly true, but not of much help at the moment. People have the cars that they have. I drive an ordinary saloon car and it costs over £60 to fill it up. I am not planning to change the car tomorrow because of a short-term issue.

We were out with friends last night and no fuel in Alton, Odiham, Farnham, Aldershot, Farnborough, Camberley, Yately and Bracknell.

Everywhere I went yesterday the road be blocked with people queuing for fuel. All because the media incorrectly reported a shortage. There isn't. All that happened is a delay in delivery for some petrol stations. Everyone else was OK. But now the idiot brigade have drained the tanks it's going to take longer to recover.

There are 2 garages here in the (north east) village. Both charge the same (low) price. The one at the end of the 'posh' estate had a queue of 5 cars earlier. The other had no queue.

You townies are a funny bunch. We popped out yesterday and went past a petrol station with cars at every pump ( but no queue) so I though 'sod that'. Next one we went past, I drove straight to a pump, said 'fill 'er up', had a quick chat about the price of logs with the attendant, and that was that.

At my morning swim a fellow swimmer lady say she was now going to queue for fuel, Asked how much she had she had 3/4 tank about 450 miles. She only does about 400 a month but still could not see she would be better off waiting until the panic had died down. This shortage is totally self inflicted entirely on the statement of one remoaner.
