Can I make a donation to my kids school through my business?

No stipulations on what the money is spent on, it does not even need to be spent on my kids class.

But if you were asking "can my limited company make a donation to my kid's school and obtain tax relief for it?" then you may get a different answer.

Our business has made a number of donations over the years to various schools, some of which my children attended and some not. Always been charitable donations on the books, and no not stipulating what it's spent on and never had an issue with the accountant.
I think questions could be asked if it were a private school that you child attended and it could be seen as a contribution towards school fees, but anything else I believe should be fine.

As I said, anyone can donate money to charity, but what type of ‘business’ it is will determine if tax relief is available

Just a normal local school, it is not a private school. It is an infants if that makes any difference.
Im not sure how else to describe it.

I mean what type of business you are, if a Ltd co then you can claim tax relief on donations to charity, a sole trader business can not claim, instead it will need to be claimed personally through self assessment
