DvdShop

Hi i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this domain (Thedvdshop.co.uk) was worth anything of worth or if i should just forget about it and let it die?

Cheers,When i bought the name cheaply i thought it might be worth abit. But as times gone by i have forgotten about it but as i need the money now i'm wanting to sell it off.

Not sure if you have sold your domain-name, but don't let it go for silly money. Either post it on the auction site at http://www.sedo.co.uk or on www.a4uforum.co.uk domains for sale forum. I have known people to use the forum at a4u for auctions - start the domain at £100 or so and then say the highest bid on Friday wins.

If your still after a quick sale then PM me - I have a mate who buys these type of domains, but he won't normally pay above £150.

All the Best,
Trevor

It's worth more than the original registration fee but probably not worth more than £200.

Domain names with the word "the" at the beginning are generally not worth a huge amount.

If you owned dvdshop.co.uk then it would be worth £x,xxx to low £xx,xxx

Isn't it worth more as an actual business. I don't see the point in hoarding domain names in the hope of them being worth something, as a brand with a decent turnover it would be worth a lot more.

You're absolutely right Mike but a brand with turnover (and ideally profit) only comes about when the owner of the domain as the time, money and energy to spend on it.

I agree its a lot of hard work to establish a brand. I haven't looked back since setting up on my own though. Beats working for someone else.
