Hi, I'm going to buy domain name but I'm not sure which company is good as I've heard some of them charge 2-3 times when you want to transfer and what should I look for when register domain name? If anyone could give me some advice I'd be appreciated, thanks in advance

Hi Gena, You are correct in that some of the biggest UK domain registrars charge for transferring domains away from them. However many UK domain registrars, including ourselves, do not charge hidden fees. If you are registering a UK domain name then all domain names come with their own Nominet (the company that manages UK domain names) account, so you can also manage your domain via their control panel.

Hi Gena,

As you say, some registrars do charge however if you drop their support an email before purchasing you can check this out and it will also be a good thing to test their support before purchasing from them.

Have a good new year,

Jacob

Gena,
Most hosts won't charge you to transfer the domain name, what more important is access to your website. Some of the cheaper providers use their own site builders which means you can't ever move to a new host.
