Domain name suggestions - Brainstroming.

Hi,

Need some domain name suggestions for an online retail shop I am planning to open. I will be selling jewellery to begin with, however, I do not want to use any jewellery related terms in the domain, as I might expand my product range in the future, so I want to keep my options open.

Some of the factors I am looking for in the name are

1. Commonly used (SEO purposes) - not a high priority though.
2. Appealing, catchy
3. Suits all ages (not a typical regional slang)

ummm...Thats pretty much it...looking forward to some nice suggestions :)

Hi - our primary focus would be Uk, however we would be shipping internationally, so we want to give the site a Global theme.

Product Range - From jewellery - Handbags - Charms - Fashion Accessories, sky is the limi for the long term..however, we would be focussing on jewellery only for the next year or so

I'm rubbish at coming up with names, but I'll give you a few common pitfalls to avoid.

1) You've hit on this, but don't put a product/range name in your domain. For example - LovelyJewellery.com. That's great until you decide to sell something other than jewellery!

2) Don't have YourCompanyUK.com. It sounds obvious, but I've seen it done. Again, a great domain until you decide to work outside of the UK. Also avoid regsitering YourCompanyUK, YourCompanyUS, YourCompanyEU etc. etc.

3) Get a domain that is available in both .co.uk and .com forms. You can ignore the rest.

4) Don't fall for registering a load of "similar" domains. Get one good domain, stick to it and publicise it like mad!

I'd pick a one-word name that was easy to spell and not easy to confuse with anything else, and use that name as your Internet brand name (it doesn't have to be the same as the company name). The name doesn't have to mean anything. Go for ".com" if you have overseas customers (".co.uk" looks like a sub-domain to non UK people as they are used to just seeing the country code ".fr", ".de", etc.).

For example: www.artensa.com, www.brookly.com, ...
(I have no idea if these domains exist or not).
