Hi Guys

I'm thinking about showing competitors prices on my webiste as our own prices are pretty competitive.

Has anyone had any experience of featuring price comparisons on their website (either positive or negative)?

Would appreciate any feedback or comments.

Thanks very much

Bobby

Tesco do it, and they seem to do ok ;-)

If you're going to do it, I think the important thing is to make sure that the competitor prices you're listing are up to date. You might tire of checking to see if their prices have changed, so if there are lots of them it might be worth finding an automated way to check.

You might want to consider providing a link to your competitors pages so that your visitors can easily verify what you're saying. The disadvantage of this is you are alerting your visitors to sites they may not know about, and potentially giving your competitor a boost in Google, via the value of your link. (there is however a solution to this)

I have seen this done to good use.

They highlight not just the price but what service options they get for the same price. They often also say "You Save: £XXX".

The above comment says allays use affiliate links, id say never link to competitors just write their name.

Yes we do it and it definetly works! :)

We have gained about 6% increase in sales and also a big reduction in cart abandonment.

We use a software service for ours.

Remember to always a/b test though.

Type 'show competitors prices' into google to find those offering this service.
