Do you use order fulfilment?- quick question - Insurance

Hi all

Am thinking about eventually outsourcing our fulfilment - do order fulfilment companies normally insure the goods they store and pack - or is it down to us? By insure I mean while the goods are at their premises - against fire or damage not against postal loss.

Tks in advance.

Goods would not be automatically insured by the fulfillment/storage company unless specifically requested by you and if so there would be an additional cost.

You would also be able to arrange your own insurance for goods held at a warehouse through your own insurance broker.

UK Fulfilment are a fulfilment company offering the services you may eventually require. As a general rule we do NOT insure customers goods on our premises, although we can at an additional cost based on the advised maximum stock holding value that our clients give us.

Hope this helps and if you would klike a quote for your fulfilment needs drop me a message.

The storage/ fulfillment company should take care of the insurance although they might charge you extra depending on the value of your goods.

We used to outsource our fulfillment when we first started but had lots of problems so decided to bring it in-house and it actually proved more cost effective.

We now do both our own fulfillment and have also taken on the fulfillment of other small gift companies (so they can enjoy our better rates with couriers) so pm me if you are interested.
