As no doubt most of you already knew, this whole thread (whilst an interesting discussion in it's own right) is desgined for me to shamelessly promote our free events in central london.

Do you find it difficult sometimes to make those calls that might win you new business? Well you are not alone! We will examine how we as individuals handle rejection and ways that we can use to keep up our motivation. We will look at ways to make sense of our "limiting beliefs" that hold us back and look at specific techniques to help us get more success when we call prospective customers. The presentation will reveal some simple but effective ways to become a black belt in telephone marketing

I can honestly say that Andy, the speaker, is absolutely great - he's spoken to the group before about other stuff.

If any of you come I'll "buy" you a drink (they're free anyway!)

the problem is that silences on the phone are quite hard for people to deal with.
You've never been to psychology training! Silence is a very powerful tool when you're trying to uncover the real issue at hand. People feel uncomfortable about silence and can't stop themselves from saying more.
