Have an issue that has been raised. My url is giftallround.com

My colleague has said that It should be plural, so giftsallround. But I explained that giftallround still makes sense and could still fit as a brand. He doesn't think so?

Any advice? Could giftallround make or break

Giftallround sounds a bit stoppish to me. But again, domain names aren't supposed to reflect grammar per se but rather intent.

I must agree that plural works better. However, in this case, you can have a brand name that grammatically corrects the domain name, like "A Gift All Around." If i saw your URL and saw your website title, I'd likely remember your website title and use it to search for your shop if I needed it again.

That's the kind of thing I was going for with the slogan. 'A gift for all' kind of thing...
Meaning that whenever you shop on the site you're bound to find something for everyone's personal taste.

Don't think many people on here agree though. So definetly starting to second guess my idea haha

If you've got both domain names, great. From a branding standpoint go with GiftsAllRound - it sounds better and is aesthetically pleasing to look at. Use it as your main domain name and 301 redirect the other one. Simple.

I'm not sure either are particularly good domain names. But a lot depends on how you plan to market the business.

Google searches aren't an option for now so you will have to use other means to get people onto the site. If they are just going to follow links then the domain name is almost irrelevant. But you may be better off with something easier to remember

giftaround, giftsallaround, giftsaround and so on. People will get it wrong more often than they get it right.

I think that the plural sounds better but don't forget the SEO aspect about the link juice (rather soft than drastic, however, with permanent redirects, you're gonna lose 15% of your page rank juice) and the domain authority, trust... It'll change your positions in search results. One can think that the losses will be bigger if you've been running for a longer time (all years?) and pointless if the domain is new.

Google used to be "BackRub", IBM, Yahoo! and many other were furthermore fancier. Also, you're not gonna be the first one changing the name. Perhaps, I'm gonna be the next one.

Best regards
