    Hi all,

I have had a dormant company for a few years which was struck off by companies house a couple days ago.

I subsequently received an email from a bank to say that company had been dissolved and the funds in the bank would now be transferred to the crown. There was c. £7,000 in the account. I don't want the company to be reinstated particularly, as it wasn't being used for anything and would sit there as it has, however don't want to not be able to access those funds and gift it to the crown. Is there any other way to go about accessing those funds apart from sending the £100 fee to companies house to reinstate it to get access back to the account and then shut the company down right after again?

    Thank you

Spending £100 to get back £7,000 sounds like a bargain to me.
£100 only covers the Companies House fee. You also have the treasury solicitors fee, possibly confirmation statement filing fees and late filing penalties plus the fees of an accountant should you choose to use one. Probably nearer the £600 mark but still worth it to get back £7000 methinks.

Unless you can convince bona vacantia that the money belongs to you and short circuit the process. Suspect you will have to reinstate.
