Hi I’m looking for a designer brand wholesaler or single sales person who sells the following brands such as, Gucci, Prada, EA7, Kenzo, Palm Angels. This doesn’t have to be new season it can be old season. I want to start my own online shop selling these goods.

If someone could help point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Shane.

Not going to happen. Those brands are very protective and strictly control who and where their products are sold.

Reselling is a whole lot different to retailing. If you want new stock you need to talk to the brands.

Makes no real difference. If you want stock you need a supplier and to be an authorised seller. To become one of these you need lots of cash and usually a B&M store.

    Bricks and Mortar i.e. shop

Those brands spend millions each year in making their brand name mean QUALITY

To sell there goods you need a shop in a great position that may well have had £50-100,000 spent on shop fittings and a 10 year trading history selling high quality high priced goods

I’ve seen Instagram accounts and so on reselling such items so nothing is impossible.

Those people who you see selling these things on Instagram have bought them at retail price, or sourced them from things like bankrupt stock, and are selling them as private sellers, not as businesses.

Either that, or they have legitimate businesses with a track record that spend a LOT of money with the brands.

Someone randomly contacting a brand and asking to buy at a discount so they can resell is going to get nowhere unless you have an excellent business proposition and lots, and lots of money behind you.

And an excellent business proposition isn't "we'll sell it cheaper and sell loads". Brands are very protective about their brand value and will not let you undercut their official resellers.

    Got it:p

Although I will say that a unit close to ours has recently been taken over as a distribution hub for an online retailer of very high end designer clothing. No B&M store!

EDIT: 'have bought them at retail price, or sourced them from things like bankrupt stock, and are selling them as private sellers, not as businesses.'

Just seen this and I think the company I'm referencing sits somewhere a tier higher than you suggest, i.e., they are selling as a business but most [probably with a rarer than hen's teeth understanding with brand owners.

Many designer brands have certain outlets the sell off old or slow moving stock at a reduced price. I took my wife to a Monsoon store approx ten years ago when trading on eBay, to get my daughters some dresses.

Whilst wondering how I was going to afford them, I noticed approx thirty beanie hats, brand new with tags, on sale at £1 each. They were originally £15. I bought the lot and sold them the following winter, at the £15 each tag price.

The only problem with getting stock in such a way is you have no real guarantee of supply levels, and many brands you see online are fake items to boot.

Many years ago when I was involved with large high street clothing stores and that exactly what happened when the sales started we had regular "customers" who would come in and buy huge amounts of stock (we actually supplied them with runners rails to fill up) no internet in those days it all ended up on the markets. People still make a living out of it now scouring the likes of Tesco for cheap homeware bargains to resale on eBay or Amazon.

Not mentioned yet is the huge amount of knock offs being sold online and at events up and down the country, have seen many a trader have all their wares confiscated by trading standards at places like Santa Pod, Silverstone etc. as an aside just look at the amount of fake iPhones being sold on FB market place, pick yourself up a nice 13 pro max for under £500 happy days

Research the brands you want to sell and visit the wholesale areas of those specific countries and look for end of line distributors.

It will need a personal visit and leg work. Probably best to wait till travel restrictions have eased.

Try Italy first (Prato area), France second (Used to be in Sentier, many have moved to the North of Paris).

They are out there, but you will only get end of lines and previous season's stock.

Anything current season sold through distributors, 'top tier' brands have code numbers on the labels, so the brand owners can see who their distributor has sold the goods on to.

EA7 will be the 'easiest' brand to get hold of. I wouldn't hold much hope for Gucci, Prada or any 'top tier' brands.
