Hi

We sell to amazon vendor and we have an issue with a customer that purchased out product directly from amazon

By mistake amazon left the purchase po on the packaging with cost of items from us and the customer is aware of the price paid by amazon and the profit made

Customer has posted the invoice on social media and Twitter and I’m wondering if this is illegal as the invoice clearly states amazon and our company details

Can we take legal action againt the person posting copies of the invoice

I don't think it's illegal since the PO hasn't been obtained by illicit means?

The only people who are likely to care, however, will be Guardian reading amazon haters who have no idea of how a business works. I'd be tempted to let it blow over, yesterday's news on social media is soon forgotten.

You can always take action for the most futile of reasons - but in this case, the action would fail.

Only a complete moron begrudges a business its margins. I happen to know that my £25k car had a marginal build cost of just £4k and that a Panasonic camera I bought for £6k costs just £1.5k to build. If I want a single DMI video cable, I have to pay about £5 - £10. Of course, I am perfectly free to buy a box of a thousand of the damn things and pay just a pound each!

There's a thought! Go on the idiot's Twitface page and offer them one thousand of these things at the price they assume you paid. That'll shut them up!

Of course you should take legal action, and spread it all over social media and the newspapers that the customer has done this. Then, perhaps belatedly, read up on the Streisand effect

By that reasoning a very large percentage of the public at large are complete morons who seem to believe that these wondrous online monsters are benevolent saints that run on thin air - or even less...
    You said it, Buster!
Remind us, how many tickets could you for a concert in one evening? Streisland crash the American phone system when announcing her live show.
    People love mediocrity.
