CT600 Alternatives

Hi All,

I'm the secretary for a tiny limited company (couple thousand turnover, some mileage expenses, no staff, no stock, no assets etc) and have used GNUCash to maintain the accounts for the past decade & filed using the free online HMRC CT600 service. That's being canned now :( 😠. AIUI it means I'll have to pay someone else for something which I've done up until now with no problems. Does anyone have any recommendations for the cheapest / simplest alternative for me? Most of the big-name "small business" offerings seems to focus on sole-traders rather than ltd and I've struggled to find any explicit information from them saying that their software will even do the corporation tax submission.

Thanks a lot,
Adam

There is Andica (tax) and Easy Digital Filing (tax and accounts) that may be worth looking at. I don’t use them so offer no recommendation.
Good luck in your search.
Thanks. These both look like reasonable options for me. I was thinking I'd need to use a new service for constructing my accounts, but these two both just replicate the HMRC CT600 form so I can carry on as I have before (except not for free and needing to learn a new way of presenting the information! )

The accounts production software will do the ‘presentation’ for you. It should be a case of importing your trial balance. The accounts normally then feed the tax computation.

We use VT for accounts alongside Ftax for all Tax Returns (CT600, SA100 etc). Have done for years. Ftax support is very quick and excellent. Not expensive either.
Any reason you do not use VTs account package?

I'm thinking of upgrading from VT transaction to VT accounts and preparing my own accounts as the cost is getting ridiculous for the size of the business.

I dont use it so cant recommend it but I get marketing emails from Andica and am aware they have CT600 software for single users. Might be worth a look https://www.andica.com/andica-ct600-corporation-tax-software.html
