Good morning,

I am doing some research for a client into CRM databases. I have just become a freelance for them and CRM is very new to me! This is the first project they have set me with.

My client currently uses Excel to store customer details, mail chimp to send marketing and Xero for invoicing. What they would like is for a CRM that can do all these things so that everything is in one place. It does not have to be to technical, as long as it is easy to use.

I have been researching but have hit a wall, does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on CRM's to try?

Thanks in advance

You don't need one system to do all these various tasks, as much as you really just need an ability to have information flow between them. There are several, Automate.io and Zapier both jump to mind, but all allow you to build a rule-set dictating where information goes and what happens to it. As a very basic example, for every invoice raised in Xero, you can update the customer information in the CRM, and then launch a campaign on Mailchimp.

Before you make your final decision based on features / integrations I would take a look at IFTT aka If This Then That.

I appreciate that you are looking for an all-in-one solution, however I have been able to find IFTT plays really well with a lot of business applications such as MailChimp for example.

How have you hit a wall? Google search will return dozens of possibles, try them and whittle them down. Its just research and effort nothing more.

Agreed. You can't "hit a wall" till you've actually started doing some work on the project.

And when you've hit a wall, it would help your case if you explained a bit about where this wall was hit. As you haven't explained anything about this wall the only thing we can assume is that you haven't hit any wall because you're actually stagnant and not travelling anywhere; that you've been given a project and can't be bothered even drawing up requirements / criteria or scoping the project.

I am doing some research for a client into CRM databases.
So what research have you done? What CRM solutions have you excluded as not being suitable for this business? Why did you exclude them? What features and facilities do you actually need ...and at what price?
