Has anyone taken up anything interesting to pass the time?

I’ve continued to work but have been enjoying a couple of crosswords and a coffee in the garden to break up the day.

We have also done family quizzes each week. We’ve done countdown, tenable, catchphrase and pub quizzes to name a few.
Last week we did a pub quiz where each household picked a category and had to dress up as their category. We picked the animal kingdom and I dressed up as the Tiger King. Exhibit A:

We’ve also found some really nice walks ... I didn’t realise we had so much countryside within a ten minute drive. Frustratingly, we’ve found some very nice pubs that we can’t go into!

Ah, ok - have learnt something new today...think I'll stick with smaller stuff for now - I like oil pastels and recently started using gouache.
I sometimes mix gouache with my watercolors.

'Chinese painting' is totally different to watercolors, gouache, acrylics and oils. The brushes used are different (usually, goat or squirrel and much larger so hold much more paint than traditional brushes used with watercolors, acrylics and oils) and strokes are 'carefree' and as @atmosbob mentioned, important attention is taken on leaving white areas as part of the finished painting.

I find it more relaxing than other mediums and can often be more creative with the strokes and choice of (limited) colours. Greyscale is often used throughout Chinese paintings, sometimes with the addition of just one or two colours to add interest to a painting.

    Normal day for me.

Leave it wild and study the wildlife.

It was a wildlife garden to start with, but need to do something with the bottom because I have zero shade in summer, so can't use it. I will be making a patio in a shaded area, then letting the wildlife have it back again. ;)

Also all the plants in the wildlife ponds died when I was home boarding dogs, so getting them planted up again.

I've learned how to powder coat, and got all the necessary equipment to do it out in the shed. I'm now taking every conceivable part off my motorbike to get it coated black. Very therapeutic!

Also bought a PS4 so I'm reliving my youth and sitting up until all hours playing games.

That is such a useful skill to have I am always sending things down to the powder coaters .

I had some old raking done around Christmas and it looks like I just had it made

it's a good time to try new things, you may not like everything, but you will find something that interests you and devote your free time to it. Exercises in front of a computer, cooking, listening to good music or manual work. At this time, the internet offers even more possibilities and inspiration.

I've got a great pastime for the lockdown, being a single fella living on my own, I went from a flat out hectic lifestyle to, doing nothing, overnight.

Since then I completely lost the plot for the first 6 weeks and have spent the last 6 weeks or so looking for it, without any success. If you do find my plot, please post it back to me, I miss it!
