Coupons / Discount code website

Does anyone have a list of the 'good / popular ' websites that people look at to get discount codes and vouchers etc ?

Have been looking at a few and interested in the idea of using them to increase sales. What peoples thoughts are in terms of signing up to them.

They are the scum of the earth in my somewhat biased opinion but if you want to go down this route you will either have to have an affiliate scheme they can exploit or pay an advertising fee (not all offer the latter though).

The main sites are
MyVoucherCodes
VoucherCodes.co.uk
PromotionalCodes.org.uk

There are hundreds of sites with similar domains and m/o's but avoid them.

Vouchercodes.co.uk is the most 'ethical' but will be the most costly. MyVouchercodes will leave a bad taste in your mouth eventually. Promotionalcodes is the most down to earth and probably the easiest to talk to?

You can get coverage on every voucher site going by having an affiliate scheme on one of the main networks but be careful. The best operators in your sector steer well clear of this strategy and for very good reason. When I say the best - I mean ones who are making money - not big names who are desperate.

Thanks Crossdaz, appreciate your post. Have you had an particular or specific bad experience or is the 'general' view from other people as well?

Kind regards,

I am an affiliate publisher and these kind of sites are bad news for me which colours my view somewhat.
However, I also have a lot of knowledge as to how they work, the tricks they use and why some brand name merchants use them - it isn't always as straightforward as it may seem?

If you are listing purely as an advertiser then it could work because people will be looking for mothercare vouchers, as an example, and will be exposed to your brand where they might not have been previously.

If you run an affiliate scheme and offer vouchers then you run a very high risk of paying commission for and providing a discount for sales you would have already got. Confetti would be a good example of a company who got this wrong in a big way.

The real selling point they have is that big brands are listed and they attract a lot of traffic - just remember the big brands aren't necessarily on there because they really want to be.

Hi 4little1s!

LetsBuyIt.co.uk currently have a discount code advent calendar on their site which gives you a new discount voucher or code everyday until the 25th of December!
Hope this helps :)
