Hi,

We are taking on a new field salesperson to sell maintenance contracts to businesses in person.

We want to fill the guys diary with appointments (looking at 6 per week) and are thinking that telemarketing may be the best way to go.

Can anyone give me a ball park figure of the kind of cost 25 appointments a month would cost. Obviously we are looking for them to be highly qualified.

Thank
Grace.

Hi Grace,

Telemarketing is definitely the service you want to be looking at.

It is Difficult to give a figure as it would depend on how long it takes to book the appoitnments. Most telemarketing companies work on a day rate (this can range from around £150 per day up to around £600 per day) to do appointment making.

There are a few (around 5) companies that offer a 'pay per appointment' service though.

We can help you get a few quotes together to compare if you like?

What type of maintenance contracts? Is it general IT or something more specialist?. If you are looking for 25 appointments you are asking for the same results as someone working full time for you would achieve.

If you want to PM me with more details of what you do I can tell you if it's feasable and how much you would need to invest to get a decent return,

Hi,

its actually maintenance contracts for air conditioning/heating in 100+ size office/factories.

from the first post then full time would be 20 day and so a cost of £3000 to £12000......

I assume that those £600 a day companies are doing something special !

After a disaster with Commission only sales agents

We sell a CRM, ERP and accounting product and use a Telemarketing company who have specific teams for specific industries and for 6 days a months of their time we pay £1700 and we get between 8 and 10 highly qualified leads a week.

We are doing 6-8 demos a week

how comes these telemarketing guys charge £200-£300 per day for sitting on their bottoms all day and telephoning strangers. this is worth no more than £50 a day and that is pushing it

Hi Grace,

Sitting at a desk all day hammering out 100+ calls is hard work; but telemarketing companies to vary.

Larger call centers have high overheads, managers, offices etc. Smaller telemarketing agencies have lower charges as they have lower overheads/profit margins.

How do you figure that out?

There are overheads.. the phone calls, cost of running the biz, tax, prospect data, it systems, insurance, equipment, professional fees, rates, electric, heating, employers NI, tps checks, etc.

It's not just the actual calling time its the setup, training, reporting, and general running of a campaign to get success for the client.

The £200-£300 is not a salary!

And the prices are based on the value they bring to the client. Nobody is forcing their arm :)

To the op, I would suggest doing a short trial so you get a good indication of results early on :)

Hi Grace

I would be happy to provide you with a tailored quote based on the needs of your business. We tailor the cost of each campaign and like to be incentivised to produce results so normally look at a lower day rate (approx £100per day) with a payment for each lead meeting criteria defined by you. This ensures that we are under pressure to produce results to make the campaign profitable and to retain you business.

PM me if you are interested.
