    Hi guys,

when you are making advertisements for example flyers and you have the call to action do you prefer to use "Call Now" or "Email now"?

From a marketing perspective i'm not sure if you put "Call Now" do people automatically expect a fast response (within minutes or almost instantly)? Email I would pressume people don't expect an instant reply and therefore I could reply once i'm back from jobs at the end of the day? Might be looking into it too much? As a standard i'm pretty sure I see "Call Now" a lot more often than "Email Now"?

Would you also say it's best to add 10% OFF when doing flyers?

    Thanks

Personally I would put both. Depending on the situation I would rather email someone as easier to keep a record of the conversation rather than calling them. I tend to call when there's an issue with something and a one minute phone conversation can clear things up immediately rather than 20 emails. At the end of the day you want to give people as many ways to contact you as possible.

I've never seen anyone use 'email now' and it's inappropriate for a flyer.

'Call Now' implies that the telephone will be answered by a person. If it isn't, (or there's voicemail or an answering machine) you've already broken your implied promise. Not a good start.

It'd be better to list the hours the telephone will be answered eg. 4pm to 7pm Mon-Fri. Choose between implying you're a small operator and hacking people off by not answering 'now'.

The word 'now' as a call to action is much touted but overused in many situations. It might be better to say something like:
'contact us for a free quote' or
'call us for a no-obligation discussion about...' or
'call us for an informal chat about...' or
'contact us if you'd like to know more about...'

The only limit is your imagination.

Both. Call now on the flyer with 'visit abc.xyz for more information.

As an aside. Local window cleaner is getting far more leads with postcards than he did with flyers. An emergency plumber we know gives out fridge magnets.

To be honest it's almost been 12 months now and I havn't tried flyers yet.

I personally have just done business cards up to now and feel people hold onto them more than with flyers but I'm tempted to try flyers with a 10% off code to see if they generate any sales/new clients.

I do like the post card idea as they are larger than a business card providing more information without feeling cheap like thin paper flyers
