We are looking for software that enables to invoice people simply! What we want to do is: Raise an invoice or pro forma invoice which would include vat, retention, discount and a space to write the works description and quantity/rate etc, we would like to keep a check on who is due to pay or is overdue plus do an invoice showing the gross amount and what has been paid already, also to do statements, we do not need it to do any book keeping.
Many thanks:D

I recently set up MS Accounting for someone to do something similar.

Programs like Quickbooks will also do what you want.

Thanks for the replies. We did try Sage years ago but found it too complicated and had a lot of stuff on it that we didn't use. We don't want to send invoices on line as we need a few copies of them. I will have a look at quickbooks now thanks.

amphis software

our Amphis Customer CRM makes it very easy to create quotes and invoices, track payments, send payment reminders showing the amount already paid and the balance due, and also create statements.

our clients tell us it is very simple to use compared to the other CRM packages they have tried.

you can download a free 30 day trial from here

http://www.amphis-software.com/customer/download/amphiscustomer.msi

there's also a short video here showing a quote being created in 30 seconds
