    OK so my Shopify client has hosting with Shopify, emails with 365 and domain control with 123reg

    We need to verify the domain to complete a Google change of address to connect a ten year old domain to the current new one (12 months) for SEO reasons. The only way to verify the domain is with TXT records, but the nameservers are in 365 for emails.

    This has been going on for a month, 123reg can't support us, I've just been in 365 and there's no option to add a new TXT record, nor navigate to Advanced DNS, so now we are stuck.

    I've followed the 365 instructions and created the new TXT with the Google verification using @ and saved, this was done last week so it should have rendered by now obviously.

    Failure reason:
    We couldn't find your verification token in your domain's TXT records.
    We found these DNS TXT records instead:

    • v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
    • mscid=UhKUIXyXFRV6gKO2aznz4O7wC8MjfeTciI/IOjYvSf3wNQcM6K2TieIcxUqxM5LxZ+FVJmkKkCkEg28myTIz+Q==
    • MS=ms82905986
    Can someone pretty pretty please advise on how to escape this infinite loop?

    When you say the nameservers are in 365 - are they or are they just somewhere other than 123Reg? What does www.mxtoolbox.com report for the nameservers?

    If it really is in 365 then you should be able to edit DNS records from Settings / Domains / DNS Records tab.
    It's not possible to edit nor add, we have been going round in circles. 365 says open in 123 and add the TXT hit save then click VERIFIY but there's no VERIFY button in 365.

    We have 3 domains in 365 and are pretty handy with trying to read actual words on screen to figure out where to click or action next.

    reset to use 123reg nameservers and edit the mx records to send emails to 365.

    It’s the correct way to do this.
