Can anyone recommend a good logo designer, I did take a look at people per hour but the designer I used, even after multiple revisions didn't come up with anything I would say looks truly professional.

A logo for what? Does it need to be scalable - for example something that works as a favicon, on a label, on a poster?

I’ve used this chap before:

I don't want to step on any of the brand agencies toes but we went with a pph logo to start with. We had to try a couple but got something that was acceptable in the end. It got us through the first couple of years and was what we could afford at the time.

Last year we did a full on branding exercise. A new logo and brand bible was at the end of that process. I found it all very enjoyable but it wasn't cheap. If you can afford it now, then it's definitely worth it but a temporary cheaper pph stepping stone was what worked for us.

Or….

Assess if you really need a logo right now. Very often the name of the business in an appropriate font face and colour is enough.

Hi,

I can help you with this if you still need it. Depending on your requirements, my team of UK web designers can offer you something truly unique. If you send me a message through UKBF I can send you some of our previous works, as well as our brand questionnaire. Our rates are more competitive owing to our company being quite new and our team being 100% remote.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
