Click and drop - how do I find the actual price of a sent item?

I feel a bit thick here. With OBA you could get an on the fly price for an item by just setting up a dummy manifest and it would show you the cost.

Since moving wholly over to Click and Drop, I can't seem to access OBA anymore, the whole thing goes in loops so I can't get to the 'old' pages. I don't know if RM purposefully removed our access from OBA now we're fully fledged Click and Drop. Either way, I'm trying to see if I can get a price for an item I'm going to send as well as a manifested order's cost of sending. I can't seem to do that intuitively.

On manifested orders I can only see a 'price' for the whole manifest i.e. multiple orders. And the only way to work out how much something will be to send is to manually go through the pricing PDFs. Whilst the UK postage is relatively easy to work out, when you look at overseas there's whole matrix involved.

Am I missing something or a way to work these out easier?

    Thanks

    Dan

You're right, there's no way to see the price before booking.

TBH, that's likely not a biggie for most people as if you're linked your store/ebay etc into CnD you should of already worked out what the pricing is so you know what to charge folk on the fly. Catch-22 though, so the only answer is the rate card PDF.

Do you know the service code(s) of what you send? Have you moved to the country pricing or still on the (old/higher) zone rates? Either way it's relatively straight forward to add the price per item + proportionate per kg price for your service, e.g. from:
then add any proportionate Air Carrier Supplement:
then add the international fuel surcharge (currently 4%):

There used to be a RM xls that you could download that had all the country rates in and automatically applied the surcharges. It had the catchy name of "EXTERNAL Royal Mail International Export Business Products Calculator" but I can't find any version now. Maybe ask your account manager :)

Thanks. LOL, it sounds so easy! We have always charged flat rate / free postage above a certain threshold to keep things simple and we only use a handful of service codes (DE4 / MP7 / MP9 / MTE for overseas). UK is easy peasy, it's just the internationals I really have a beef with, you'd think there'd be some funky way of getting the price like you might do on some other courier websites.

You can check the prices you paid in OBA after you've sent, which may be helpful to you for future orders?

    Sign in to OBA:

Then click "access OBA", then click "your account" and finally click "create a new sales order summary". We do this on a daily basis after we have manifested from our order management software.

If you want to check prices before hand for international orders your account manager should have a CSV they can send you. If you use "country priced" MTK, MPR, MP7 etc then you just type in the weight next to the country and it will give you the price for all those services.

Yes, that is what I used to be able to do do but I can't access OBA at all now with the same credentials, I go in an infinite loop no matter the PC/browser. All I can do now is log into C&D and that's it.

I can login but then when I click 'access OBA' I cannot access the OBA 'accounts' part that I'm used to seeing and then following your methodology. I think RM or RM's website is a bit 'confused' with our account now where a session for us somehow gets it stuck in a loop.

Our OBA account was/is under an old email account. When I set up C&D under a newer email address but linked to the RM/OBA account for the old email address, I've had problems getting to the old OBA screens I'm used to. In a similar vein I could not order or access the free thermal labels RM provide in their online shop. RMs response was this list of things to try:

where number 11 worked but implies some sessions/cookie based shenanigans that is not consistent.

I'll ask them again to see if I can get an explanation or a more sensible answer as it drives me crackers!

Yeah go back to them as you need / should be able to access all this information.

As this is where you access invoices, tracked reporting etc so they need to fix that for you so you can access it.

In regards to your other thread about thermal labels. If you type in the product code "P6709" for the thermal labels instead of 6 by 4 it should work, that's what we have to do anyway as we too get that 404 if we only type in 6 by 4 and click from the drop down.

ah ha - I've found the calculator XLS:
Scroll right down to foot of page and expand the Pricing Calculators menu to give you the International Business Pricing Calculator:
This ZIP contains an XLSB file and you'll need to UNBLOCK* it to run the macros.

The Quick Reference sheet allows you to select a country from the drop down cell and the prices for all the services will update on the page.

Alternatively, for to find/show a specific MP7 price for instance, on the NCP Country Parcels tab, you then enter you item weight in the yellow box for the country and the unit price column for the service updates (with any surcharges by default). Not elegant I agree, but functional

    * in Windows file explorer, right-click, then properties, and the unblock checkbox is at the bottom.
