Hello

I’m in the process of building client base. Really interested in seeking clients in the landlord and office space.

Does anyone have any contacts to get your foot in the door in Bournemouth, failing that any advice how to get connected to the right people to sell our services.

Physically visiting offices or arranging meetings. Offer lunch at suitable restaurants. Send letters suggesting meetings and lunch.

It’s going to be hard work as most businesses will already have cleaning contracts and will be unwilling to switch to an unknown.

    Hello @Mdp100

I would take a different approach to those suggested. My experience of managing several businesses of varying sizes regarding cleaning was that I wanted it done to a reasonable standard, without fuss or bother and without really noticing it was happening. Once a contract was in place leave it alone for as long as possible. I definitely would not go out for a lunch to be charmed into trying out a new company or respond to someone who knocked on my door UNLESS I was unhappy with my current cleaner. How do you find out who is unhappy with their cleaning company?

My suggestion would be to regularly advertise in the local paper, along the lines of "Unhappy with your cleaning company? Sign up with us and get the first week free. If you don't like us after a week we tear the contract up".

Also, be aware that TUPE can be involved in some contracts, which is something I would avoid at almost all costs.
