I only have time to do one of them. Although level 7 leadership and management sounds great, I am more interested in coaching. Does CIM level 5 coaching carry much weight when it comes to job hunting? Many thanks.

Level 7 as in a Masters?

To tell you the truth it depends where you want to work. If you already have a management degree then thats as much as you need to get to the top at the majority of organisations. Its the really major ones that also want a masters.

There may also be some masters options (if you shop around) where you can do both. I assume it will be under human resources for coaching, but I don`t know for sure as its not something I have ever considered myself.

One possibility I can see is an Open Degree with the Open University.

Under their Open Degree rules you get to pick your own units for a Masters. You might find you can kill both birds with one stone as in your coaching with some extra management and leadership added in.

I`ve never looked at that my combination myself so cannot tell you the specific options available.

What can you offer an employer
How can you be an assets to that company and contribute to its growth
How will your degree and existing skills contribute to that companies success

I fully support university education in the UK but we are a business forum so I have to ask the above questions

I`ve had a look for you at the Open Master Degrees.

Group 4 contains their business, finance, HR, and Law modules, including Learning and Development at Work. If you don`t wish to go as far as a masters its also available on postgrad certs and diplomas.

If its something you pursue with the OU then its cheaper than other Uni`s, its remote learning but you do get a timetable with assignments to stop you loosing focus with other activities. You should probably also be aware its not 70% and above for grade 1 passes with them, its 85% and above.

They have also gone remote exams for any end of module exams that apply, as in done from home. You`ll need a webcam.
