Earl, please read my post properly I don't have the time to repeat myself over and over.

Local services (dustbins being emptied) are covered by council tax not income tax. Health, well if I am paying NI, Income tax and VAT on everything I buy then I'm contributing roughly £6,000 per year in tax's. I don't receive any benefits, I haven't seen a doctor for the last two years and I have been to hospital once in the last 5 years. So that's roughly £30,000 in tax's and the only thing in return that is of a benefit to me is a hospital visit for a broken shoulder and at the most 4 visits for a checkup at the GP. Hardly a burden on society is it.

Oh and road, ha don't get me on that one. What the bloody hell do you think the £140 per year road tax is for? And what about all the petrol tax, I contribute about another £500 per year in petrol taxes

Oh Chris, you really are a silly sausage.

Council tax is about 25% of total local government spending. Central government and business rates makes up the rest of the funding.

Whoever paid for your education deserves to get a refund if you don't know things like that. Actually can we get a refund from you anyway?

Whilst on the subject, can we get a refund for the child benefit your parents received because you obviously don't think they should have received it. :)

There are 'certain' services which benefit the community and regardless of how they are funded they are essential, refuse and sewerage, water etc...

What bites my goat is paying for something you don't use, it should be PAYG and operated like any other business which would drive standards up and there's a second avenue here. "I am entitled" which is a phrase which makes my ****ing blood boil and here is a real world example of such, many teachers (as many as 80%) polled are considering leaving the profession due to the attitudes and aggressive behaviour of the pupils as young as nine years old. My cousin-in-law (?) is a classroom assistant and last week alone had a kid up a tree in protest, one gang attack upon other kids and two teachers assaulted... Now correct me if I am wrong but education is a service paid for by tax payers and used to be a privilege... in most other countries it still is... not an entitlement.

So I don't mind paying for education, nor probably do you and the vast majority of us have benefited from that system but why am I paying for these kids whom don't listen anyway, likely to be our labourers and generaly workforce of the future. Now don't get all socialist on me but would it not be better to make a policy that if you demonstrate by your actions that you have contempt for any provision that said be removed and you be reallocated into 'training' such as helping the community, care homes, apprentice work to be a trade worker and thus remove the cost from the community two fold in the expense of education and provision of the service these wasters will now work to provide. If they want back into education then let the parents pay to educate their kids, reducing the burden upon all and sending a message that you are "due" nothing but when you work as part of the community we'll be happy to provide. Apply it to all aspects which bite yer bum, so falling preggers doesn't entitle you to a council house or more benefit, being too fat to work because you can't keep off the cream cakes doesn't entitle you to disability, the list is endless...

On the other side of the argument "yes" the goverment are right to reduce these benefits, it is a hard choice and a brave one for a politician to take because the PM will probably not get voted in next general election unless the majority of voters wake up and see results, which will not happen in four years let's face it. The current system does not work and major overhaul is needed, bring on more public sector cuts and benefit cuts to those whom don't need them, really need them.

Finally well done to the PM's statement, that he will not be backing down on the 'bankers' bonus issue until the banks start lending to businesses again in a realistic way. That's balance...

Well if I was you I would thank my lucky stars that I was born into such an affluent society and had the good fortune to have a couple of parents with more than one brain cell.

I personally am very gratefull for the labours of the world as someones got to do the essential things in society.

Just bleeding glad I ain't one of them.:)

As far as education goes everyone is going to learn at a different rate as my observations above have identified.;)
